The Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Mahindul University, the top university in Thailand, to cooperate in the field of higher education and research.
Under the agreement, the university will provide scholarships, fellowship and training facilities for the teachers, researchers, students, UGCs and various university officials.

During this time, discussions about various activities centered on Miss Jatichari scholarships and higher education.
Professor Dr. Shah Nawaz Ali said that UGC wants to build intimate relations with different universities of the world including Mahidul University for internationalization of higher education in Bangladesh.
He urged the delegation of Mahidul University to give at least five scholarships to the students of Bangladesh.
He said this compromise and exchange agreement will accelerate the education of two countries, especially research and development activities.
It is to be noted that this oldest university in Thailand is well known throughout the world for medical science, engineering and information and communication technology. Graduate level scholarships are being offered to foreign students from this university.
UGC Secretary Dr. Mohammad Khaled, director Md. Fakhrul Islam and Additional Director Mohammad Maksudur Rahman Bhuiyan were present.
